How is it 2016 already? Is it just me or did 2015 fly by? I’m looking forward to a new year and new travel adventures, but before I focus on the upcoming year, I thought I’d first take a look back at 2015. Here are the top 10 blog posts from this past year. These are the posts that have been read and shared the most by you – my readers!

“Egypt is a spectacularly beautiful country filled with cultural gems. A country I’ve been lucky enough to experience and check off my bucket list. There’s TONS of reasons why you should visit, but here’s 11…”
“Curious how to fly to Europe for cheap? We’re talking about $350 roundtrip (or, possibly even less) from the USA! If money is what’s holding you back from traveling more and exploring Europe, it shouldn’t be…”
“Since I was only in Malta for three days, I wasn’t sure whether Gozo (Malta’s smaller sister island) would make the cut on our busy itinerary. Much of what I read about Gozo highlighted the island’s dive sites, but in late November, diving and snorkeling wasn’t really an option. Sure, Gozo had some ruins and the Azure window, but was it worth it to spend one of our few days in Malta to explore the small island? These were the thoughts swirling around in my head and the reason I almost didn’t go to Gozo… But, thank goodness I did, because my day on the small Mediterranean island may have been my favorite day in Malta…”
“Stockholm truly surprised me. I knew that I would enjoy the city, but I had no idea just how much I would love it. It’s one of the most beautiful large cities I’ve ever been to and I can’t imagine how picturesque it must be in summer! Heading to the beautiful Scandinavian country of Sweden? Here are 5 things to do in Stockholm (that shouldn’t be missed)!…”
“I had mixed feelings about visiting Cappadocia for the first time in winter, but since I was already in Istanbul, I couldn’t resist hopping the short (and inexpensive) flight to the the mystical region known for it’s “fairy chimney” rock formations. Even as I boarded the plane, I couldn’t help wondering whether Cappadocia would be worth the trip in winter…”
“Norway is a beautiful country that tops many travelers’ bucket lists. However, it’s no secret that Norway is a very expensive country to visit. In fact, it’s often touted as the most expensive country in the world. Because of the price of accommodation, food and drinks, many visitors choose to only spend a short time in Scandinavia. Whether your travel constraints are due to cost, or you are faced with time constraints, here is a 3 day Norway itinerary to help you hit the highlights…”
“I did it. I finally booked a trip to Norway. And, once I did, I couldn’t have been more excited to finally check this dream destination off of my travel bucket-list. For years I’ve wanted to see the country’s rolling green hills, dramatic fjords and quaint Norwegian villages. There was only one problem: my hectic work schedule paired with the fantastic airfare deal I found meant that my first trip to Scandinavia would be in the off-season. Not “just” the off-season…the dead middle of Norway’s blistery winter: my first trip to Norway was planned for January. Not how I imagined it…”
“Having been born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, I admit that I may be somewhat biased, but I strongly believe that Milwaukee is one of the most underrated cities in the United States. The city too often gets overshadowed by it’s larger neighbor 90 minutes south, Chicago. But, it shouldn’t. Milwaukee is a historic, fun-filled city (particularly during the warmer months). Never considered a trip to the land of beer and cheese? Well, allow me to convince you…”
“It didn’t take long for me to fall in love with Sarajevo. Maybe it was just a few minutes walking around the city until I realized that it would likely be one of my favorites of the trip. If you haven’t made it to Bosnia & Herzegovina yet, you ought to! Here’s my recommendations for 12 Things You Must Do in Sarajevo to convince you…”
“My upcoming international trip was not originally in the cards for this year. Although Ireland was on my 2015 travel bucket list; I had planned to head to New Zealand in late 2015 instead. But, I’ve learned long ago that no matter how much you plan, plans are bound to change. When a good friend of mine who lives in England announced that he was getting married, I knew it was a wedding I couldn’t miss. So, instead of New Zealand, I’m headed to Ireland…”
*Bonus! My Favorite: Friday Harbor, San Juan Island: The Most Underrated Destination in the Pacific Northwest?
“Wow, I know I sound like a broken record, but I can’t believe how amazing this place is,” I exclaimed (again) to my husband as I watched another seaplane land in the small, idyllic harbor bobbing with boats. True, I hadn’t arrived to San Juan Island by mistake – in fact, it took a bit of effort to get there. And, like all of the destinations I travel to, I researched the island extensively, so I wouldn’t have planned the trip had I not believed I would enjoy it. But there was something about Friday Harbor, and San Juan Island in general, which made me yearn to plan my return trip before I even boarded the seaplane to head back to Atlanta via Seattle…”
