Our trip to Machu Piccu flew in and out from Lima, which afforded us something slightly more than a day and a half there. Both nights we stayed at Hotel Antigua Miraflores. The hotel is listed as a 3 star… which I suppose would be about right since generally speaking when traveling outside the USA the standards are a bit looser. The location of the hotel was desirable – Miraflores is an upscale district of Lima that is known for shopping, gardens and being near the beach. There were multiple restaurants and bars walking distance from the small hotel; however, the hotel itself seemed… unfinished. The rooms, although spacious, were bland and lacked in décor and personal touches.
