Up next, I’m flirting with Kelly Ross from Endlessly Exploring!

Let’s start with an easy question – tell me about yourself and your blog.

I’m Kelly, a 22-year old Australian girl with a bucket list longer than a novel. My travel blog, Endlessly Exploring, shares a collection of my travel stories, tips and inspiration for other like-minded adventure travellers. I have a passion for exploring the globe and have travelled to over 25 countries. Most recently I spent almost 4 months making my way through the USA and South America. When I’m not travelling – I’m working and saving for my next trip, having coffee with friends, playing with my cats and watching the latest TV series.

What’s your favorite UNESCO world heritage site?

I could list so many but I’m going to go with the Historic Centre of Prague. I visited Prague back in 2013 and there was just something about it that really grabbed my attention. It’s definitely one of the most beautiful cities in Europe!

Why do you travel?

I travel because it makes me happy, it’s as simple as that! I just love to explore places, meet new people and learn new things.

What are your top 3 essential travel items?

Camera, Papaw Ointment and a Journal (especially now that I blog!)

Favorite “off the beaten path” destination?

I wouldn’t say that I’ve been anywhere too off the beaten track, but spending a few nights on the tropical island of Ilha Grande in Brazil was pretty great! It’s a small island off the coast of Rio de Janeiro that only has one main town, very few roads and no motor vehicles. We spent our time there exploring the many beautiful secluded beaches and amazing jungle hikes across the island.

 Most awkward travel moment?

Travel is always full of awkward moments! One of my most awkward moments though would have to be the time that I had just rocked up to my new hotel in Amsterdam. I was walking across the street when I happened to trip over a little dip in the road and did the most spectacularly unflattering face plant you have ever seen. I sprung up pretty quickly though and thought I had gotten away with it, until I looked up to see a whole crowd of people staring at me from outside the hotel. Cue bright red blushing cheeks!

 Most memorable travel moment?

Last year I completed the hike along the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in Peru, and it was definitely one of the highlights of my travel so far. Visiting this site had been on the top of my bucket list for a long time, and I was so happy to complete the 42km hike without too much difficulty. Although those four days were challenging – the experience was incredibly rewarding and it was fantastic to share those moments with such an amazing group of people. I will never forget the beautiful views we saw along the way and the moment we caught our first glimpse of Machu Picchu from the Sun Gate!

Here’s a question most travelers hate, but reader love: What’s your top 3 “favorite” travel destinations (if you’re absolutely forced to choose)?

So tough to choose and mine are constantly changing! I’ve always been one to love big, busy cities – so I will have to say NYC, London and Amsterdam.

Do you have a travel tip or pearl of wisdom to impart upon my readers?

I’m a sucker for good quotes so I’m going to share three of my favourites with you:

“The best education you will ever get is traveling. Nothing teaches you more than exploring the world and accumulating experiences.” — Unknown

“One day your life will flash before your eyes, make sure it’s worth watching.” — Gerard Way

“If you don’t build your dream, someone else will hire you to help them build theirs.” – Dhirubhai Ambani

So in other words, stop making excuses and start making your dreams (travel or not) come true!
