If you’re flying into or through Malaysia, chances are your layover is in Kuala Lumpur. Already visited Malaysia’s capital city or looking for a different experience? Then why not head to Bandar Sunway instead? Located just 20 kilometers away from Kuala Lumpur, Bandar Sunway offers some lesser recognized modern family-friendly attractions for travelers.
Have some extra cash burning a hole in your pocket? Check out Sunway Pyramid. This sprawling shopping mall (complete with an ancient pyramid facade) is more than four million square feet and is a draw for both tourists and locals alike. Aside from retail shops galore, the mall hosts concerts, ice skating, laser tag, bowling and is home to a cinema. Looking for even more fun? Head to the Sunway Lagoon, a humongous theme-park that gives Disney World a run for its money. Sunway Lagoon includes several parks including Nickelodeon’s Lost Lagoon, a water park, amusement park, wildlife park, extreme park and “scream park.”
Bandar Sunway offers travelers a different option for their layover if they aren’t interested in spending their time in Kuala Lumpur. Bandar Sunway is also a great jumping off point to other Malaysian cities and islands, and its proximity to Kuala Lumpur’s international airport makes Bandar Sunway a convenient base to explore other locations in Asia such as Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam or Cambodia.
Is a trip to Malaysia in your future? Had you considered Bandar Sunway?
